Privacy

The short version: no accounts, no ads, no tracking, and nobody sees your story unless you share it.

No accounts

You never sign up or log in. We don't ask for your name, email or phone number.

What we store

When you get a verdict, we save one record: your story, the verdict and its percentage, the one-sentence explanation, a random id, and the time. We also keep the name of the model version that judged it, whether you chose to show your story, and a scrambled copy of a secret key that only your browser holds, so only you can change that choice.

The record sits in a private store. We keep it so a share link can show your card.

Your story stays private

Your story is never put in a link or a share image unless you turn on “Include my story on the share.” With it off, a share link shows only the verdict, the percentage and the sentence. You can turn it back off at any time from the same page.

Who reads your story

Two services process the text, and neither is told who you are. TypeSafe's Jev API reads it to decide the verdict. OpenAI reads it, along with the verdict, to write the one sentence. OpenAI never sees a story that was stopped by the safety gate or wasn't a fight.

Your IP address

We use your IP address only to limit how many verdicts one connection can ask for in a minute. It is held briefly in the server's memory and is not stored with your verdict or anywhere else.

Serious situations

If a story sounds like it involves someone's safety, you get help lines instead of a verdict, and we don't store it at all.

No ads, no selling, no tracking

There are no ads, we don't sell or rent data, and there are no tracking pixels. The site runs no analytics scripts and sets no tracking cookies.

Deleting a verdict

Email us the share link at privacy@amithejerk.app and we delete the record.
